Free Summer Fun!

Summer will be here officially in just a few days.  While we are taking a break from regular Community meetings it might be fun to gather and do some of the local events.  Don’t forget to post in the Facebook group if your family will be attending any of these so we can all join in the fun.

Here is a delightful list of free activities put together by my sweet cousin Annie Nelson.  Let’s have some fun!

APPLEGATE

  • Amazing Animal World with Tracy Saturday, June 24, 2:00-3:00 p.m. Learn about the animals in our world and even get your picture taken with one!
  • Color Splash-tastic! S.T.E.A.M. Program Saturday, July 22, 2:00-3:00 p.m. Join us as we experiment with colors!

AUBURN

  • Super Science Saturday: Kitchen Science (ages 7-12)  Saturday, June 10, 10:30 a.m.-Noon. Fizzing & Foaming science fun! Registration required.
  • Wild Things (all ages) Thursday, June 15, 10:00- 11:00 a.m. Meet some rescued exotic animals from around the world! Garden Theater.
  • Mad Science Thursday, June 22, 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Let’s explore the wondrous world around us with Mad Science of Sacramento! Garden Theater.
  • 3rd Annual Drive-In Movie (all ages) Thursday, June 29, 10:00 a.m.-Noon. Cruise on in to the Library drive-in, customize your car and sit back and watch Moana! (Food at Event) Registration required.
  • Candy Sushi (Teen/Tween) Wednesday, July 5, 2:30-4:00 p.m. Candy. Creativity. Design. And…did we mention candy? Registration required.
  • Super Science Saturday: Creative Construction (ages 7-12) Saturday, July 8, from 10:30 a.m.-Noon, Design it, build it, use it in a food fight. Registration required.
  • Musical Robot Thursday, July 13, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Attention robots: set your gadgets for a performance of chaos and general silliness with Musical Robot! Garden Theater
  • Cowgirl Tricks (all ages)Thursday, July 20, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Trick ropin’ and whip crackin’! Don’t miss the sassy Karen Quest perform her amazing tricks at this entertaining event! Garden Theater
HOME DEPOT – DIY Bug House

Kids

Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can celebrate our 20th Anniversary of Kids Workshops by building a bug house you can use to get a closer look at some many-legged friends in your own backyard. Once the project is complete, your child can personalize their bug house with paint. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

FTL Startup Lab Camp

And let’s not forget our own Free to Learn Startup Labs Summer Camp.  This week of summer camp will be a time for enterprising kids to Dream, Design, Create & Share their ideas with the real world as we go from concept to product and then take them to market.  Register today!

ALC SUmmer CAmp LOOmis

We are proud to be hosting the Agile Learning Centers West Coast ALF Summer Training!  As part of the training we will be offering low cost summer camp facilitated by our seasoned and newly-trained Agile Learning Facilitators.  We are in the process of putting together all the event info, but for now, you’ll want to save the dates of August 7th – 11th.  If you’ve been interested in seeing what Free to Learn is all about, this is the perfect chance.  Bring the kiddos out for the whole week to practice Community life.  We’ll spend the week using ALC tools, building relationships, and working through our daily practicing setting intentions, creating, reflecting & sharing our value with each other.  More info to come soon!!  Call to register and find out more!
